Online Training Classes

It's Just-in-Time Online Training Classes it's never to late according to North Carolina University http://learnmore.uncg.edu/blog/bid/114537/It-s-never-too-late-North-Carolina-adult-education-goes-online North Carolina University claims, 67% of adults in North Carolina do not have a college degree, and about 41% have only a high school diploma. The bad news is during the next 15 years, the North Carolina workforce with college degrees will actually decrease because fewer young people are earning college degrees and  more baby-boomers are retiring. Now the good news The North Carolina Community College system has 58 campuses across the state - at least one within 30 miles of every citizen. Adult basic education, technical, vocational, college transfer, and general education are their strong suits. Additionally, the 16 campuses of the University of North Carolina system offer a wealth of opportunities for adult students at prices that are considered real bargain . The current average tuition with room and board is about $12,600 for residents. The per credit hour cost of an online course is only $128.07. There are several Colleges that offer online courses and degrees.

The Advantages to Learning Online

Degree Programs and Classes Offered

There are several advantages in providing online courses. A variety of degree programs and single classes are now being offered through online courses. Being able to choose from many different programs allows prospective students to find a program that will suit their needs. students can also choose from various types of degrees depending on previous educational attainment. Associate, Bachelor's, Master's, MBA, J.D., and Ph.D. degrees can all be earned online.

Lower Costs

It is not uncommon for tuition at online schools to be lower than that of a traditional school, although this is certainly not true of all online programs.

No Sitting in a Classroom

Since all classes are online, students will not have to attend classes. Lectures and other materials are electronically sent to the student who will then read them, prepare to take quizzes, and complete assignments.

Choosing Study Times

Students will be able to plan their study time around the rest of their day instead of the other way around.

Flexibility in Completing Assignments

Schedules may not be as strict when taking classes online. Students can work on and complete assignments when they are ready and at their own pace.

Options When Returning to the Workplace

For parents who have children, but plan on returning to the workplace in the near future, earning a degree while taking care of children will help them stay informed about changes in their former career.

Balance a Job and Class

Even though someone desires to go back to school, it doesn't mean that they want to leave their current job. Online degree programs make it so that they don't have to. Students will be able to go to work during the day and study at nighttime.

Specialized Degree Programs

In many online degree programs, students are not required to take elective classes unless required by their major.

New Concepts

Online interactive classes tend to adopt new concepts and changes more quickly. Whereas it may take years for a traditional class to change and even a new text adopted, online courses can change very quickly, an advantage for students whose course of study is currently evolving as quickly as it is learned. New findings from anywhere in the world can be brought in quickly and easily.

Increased Interaction

Student interaction is increased. Unless a student in a traditional class has time to chat with other students in a student area or nearby coffee shop, he or she may never really get to network outside of class. In an interactive class, these students may share their views and ask questions of other learners all around the globe.

Disadvantages of Online Education

Organization

You must be able to organize your time and to do the work of the course. If you typically depend on class peers to motivate you, online education may be tough for you because are, in some ways, on your own.

Personal Interaction

If you enjoy listening to teachers and other students, the more visual style required for online learning may not work for you. If eye contact with the teacher and with other students is necessary in order for you to keep your focus, virtual learning a regular classroom may be the better choice for you.

Computer Skills

To make online education or virtual learning as easy as possible, a student must be comfortable using a computer and the internet.

Not Just Higher Education is going Online

Online Schooling is becoming very popular with Elementary School in rural areas. Online classes allow students in rural areas to take classes that may not be available in their regular schools. There are many webpages like Plato Learning Elementary Solutions to help instructors make curriculum and ways to evaluate their students in grades K-12. An example of one is below:

Example: The following link provides some information about the benefits of online learning as well as information and links for schools that provide this form of education:

Hi there,

Ok so I am your first editor and here are my opinions (take them or leave them =)):

I would recommend reviewing your wiki for grammar and syntax errors. I noticed that you tend to not use periods or capitalize the first letter in a sentence. (Most noted in the section: Degree Programs and Classes Offered). I also noticed that sometimes extra words are added like in this sentence: If eye contact with the teacher and with other students is necessary in order for you to keep your focus, virtual learning a regular classroom may be the better choice for you. The added words would be virtual learning.

I think it might also help to define what just-in-time training is and delve deeper into that. Also some of your sections could be better explained such as this section: Specialized Degree Programs.

Also, was there a reason why you focused your introduction on North Carolina?

I noticed that there are no references listed. I think that we are suppose to cite our information in APA format. Just a heads up!

I thought that your links were very good and up to date. =)
